Tangled Art + Disability
Tangled Art + Disability have invited me to participate in an action research project sponsored by the Ontario Arts Council. The project is intended to engage practicing artists with disabilities and Deaf artists to develop artwork, and to produce descriptions of their practices, artistic processes, and experiences as a means of identifying the challenges, successes, barriers and opportunities they encounter.
YYZ Summer Mentoring and Educational Residency
This summer YYZ is running a month-long directed mentoring and educational residency for emerging visual artists, independent curators, and new Canadians with professional arts training who live beyond the downtownwn core. Through a series of facilitated seminars, studio visits, and critiques, participants have the chance to further their practice, make connections, and develop a body of work for exhibition.
Borders
This is my postcard submission for a cooperative exhibition between Loft and Meet&Go in Strasbourg, France. The theme for the exhibition is "Borders". The end of my residency in Taipei, where this work was made, ended up being a very political and emotional time for both Taiwan and myself. Protests in the capital were close to home - so close in fact that police brutality broke out on 23 March outside our front door, which was located across the street from the Executive Yuan. The series consists of drawings of urban plans or maps of Zhongshan district and then bullets are fired through the 300lb paper.

Für Elise, Revisited
New work from my solo exhibition little tremors has been uploaded to the website.
This work includes "Für Elise, Revisited" which is a duet/ collaboration with the garbage trucks of Taiwan. The garbage trucks in Taipei play one of Beethoven's most familiar pieces to signal to people to bring down their garbage for nightly collection. I haven't played this song since I was 10 years old; during the past few months I've been relearning how to read sheet music and play the piano.
Spring Open Studio
Just an updated image from the Spring Open Studio that happened March 22 & 23 at the Taipei Artist Village.
Moving on is always something I struggle with and in that reflection I wrapped everything I own and everything in my studio in plastic wrap in hopes to perserve the present moment for a time when I can return and resume life as though nothing has changed.
Little Tremors
Solo exhibition titled 'little tremors' opens 15 March and runs until the end of the month.
Included in this exhibit are six new projects that have been conceived and realized during my time in Taiwan.

Open Studio at Taipei Artist Village
Spring Open Studio! Weekend of March 22 & 23.
Events include artists open studios, artist talk, some sort of market and a promise of music. There's also a little drawing of a full pint on the invite, which looks equally promising.
For this Open Studio I'll be making a site specific project, which is reflective of my waning time here.
I'm in Studio 202, so if you're in the area be sure to stop by!
往事如雲烟過眼,淚水竟還賦其真。
This work is included in the With my < >, trade your < > . This is an on-going project and along the exhibition concept it is a gift for the artist RoHsuan Chen. The text that accompanies it reads:
For RoHsuan,

Tears made everything that had so far seemed unreal, real.
往事如雲烟過眼,淚水竟還賦其真。

I'll Be In The Studio
The work has begun! I've got a lovely space here in Taiwan at TAV and I've been pounding the pavement finding materials to put into action.
Lots on the go, lots to be excited about!
Taipei Artist Village
Come the new year I'm thrilled to be spending three months at the Taipei Artist Village in Taiwan!
I've spent a lot of time in Asia over the years and I feel like this opportunity will really let me delve into a body of work that is both completely new and immediately responsive, and in another sense has been waiting to emerge for some time now.
