Flowers is a series of intimate paintings that began during the pandemic, when the loss of studio space brought artistic practice into the rhythms of domestic life. Having worked for over a decade as a floral arranger, the artist has long maintained a weekly ritual of keeping fresh flowers in the home.
Painted from arrangements gathered around the apartment, the works draw on an enduring relationship with plants shaped by floral design, agricultural labour and everyday acts of care. Working at a small scale, the series considers how repetition, close observation and sustained attention can transform ordinary domestic encounters into acts of making.
