Etching, screen print and mixed media
15 x 22 inches
Varied Edition of 15 + 1 OSP + FP
I Have Always Taken the Weather Personally is a varied edition of prints exploring material accumulation, erasure and the tension between process and appearance. Through exhaustive layering of etching, screenprinting and unconventional materials—including masking tape, watercolour, spray paint, rubber latex, graphite, correction fluid and wood ash—the works conceal the evidence of their own making, leaving surfaces that appear almost untouched.
The title comes from artist Roni Horn’s reflections on weather, uncertainty and the limits of human control:
“The weather is constant in its indifference to us and unpredictable in every other way. It keeps circumstance complex and beyond our final control. I think it is essential to have something that tells us who we are. And weather has a way of doing this. I have always taken the weather personally.” — Roni Horn
